| Abstract: | Este artigo teórico apresenta uma breve imersão na história das funções abrangendo a definição atual de Dirichlet por meio de sua concepção a partir das representações gráfica de Oresme e tabular dos Babilônios. Assim, discutimos os estágios da evolução histórica da linguagem algébrica, aprofundando-se na escrita retórica, sincopada e simbólica. Nesse direcionamento, do ponto de vista histórico, a distinção entre constantes e variáveis também é necessário. Argumentamos que o desenvolvimento das funções vem sendo elaborado desde 4.000 a.C. até os tempos atuais, quando a sua definição contemporânea foi proposta no século XIX. |
| metadata.dc.description.abstracten: | This theoretical article presents a brief immersion in the history of functions covering its current definition by Dirichlet and with its conception in Oresme’s graphic representation and a Babylonian table representation. In order to do so, we discuss the historical development of stages of algebraic language by deepening its rhetoric, syncopated and symbolic writings. In this way, from the historical point of view, the distinction between constants and variables is also necessary. The development of functions has been elaborated since 4.000 BC to the present, which was based on a function contemporary definition proposed in the 19th century. |
